Important Policy:

Each contestant will be allowed to ONLY register for up to 2 solo categories per instrument.

About Entry Fee:

We had resisted to put extra burden on our parents and teachers for last several years. But given the increasing cost of everything, we are forced to increase our entry fee. The new entry fee of each category is listed in this page. If you submit your application with print form, please use the updated number.

PLEASE NOTE:

  1. We don’t have repertoire requirements that means you can pick any piece on you own. We suggested to pick more competitive music for Prodigy and Open categories.
  2. Prodigy category has more time to compete about 10 minutes, normally contestant has to prepare two contrasting pieces.  For Prodigy concerto you can choose to play one movement if the piece has contrasting parts.
Open category has shorter competing time about 6 minutes or less. Only one piece needed.
Qualified category is 4 minutes Max.
  3. Since there is time limits for each category the contestant can re-arrange the music to fit the time limit, or the judge will stop the contestant when the time is exceeded. Judges should not pick any part to judge the contestants.
  4. We encourage all contestants to memorize their piece(s). Contestant can play with music sheet if the contestant feels more comfortable, but there will be deduction for the grading.
  5. Multiple repertoires are permitted. The time limits will be strictly enforced
  6. Time limits.

Prodigy Categories:  10 minutes maximum performing time.

Open Categories: 6 minutes maximum performing time.

Qualified Category: 4 minutes maximum performing time.
